Miteinander leben in Kelkheim e.V. (Living together in Kelkheim) is our HERO 2019. The organization is committed to an integrative and diverse society in Kelkheim. Miteinander leben in Kelkheim was founded in 2017 to bundle the voluntary commitment that was widely visible as a reaction to the many refugees in 2015. The aim of the organization is to shape the cooperation in Kelkheim in a diverse, open and tolerant way.
With the HERO Award, the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation annually honors organizations and individuals who stand up for people and against injustice in everyday life. The prize money is collected through the "Donations instead of Gifts" campaign, which is among others supported by companies and employees of the ROTHENBERGER group of companies.
34 members of Miteinander leben in Kelkheim and former fugitives came to the TEC Center in Kelkheim, the seat of the foundation, for the HERO Day on June 25, 2020. . After a welcoming address by Dr. Christian Heine, CEO of ROTHENBERGER AG, Felix Gottschlich, Project Manager of the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation, introduced the evening. Dr. Sandra Rothenberger, 1st Chairperson of the Foundation, addressed the HERO 2019 in a video message and congratulated the association on its win. Mrs. Berkenfeld, Vice Chairperson of the HERO 2019, expressed her appreciation for the award in a speech and introduced the project in which the prize money will be used.
The HERO 2019 has won a prize money of 7,000 Euro. In addition to the HERO prize money, ROTHENBERGER Werkzeuge is donating a professional foosball table. The prize money will be used to equip the future facilities of the organization. At the moment the organization is still looking for a place in the heart of Kelkheim where integration, togetherness and diversity can be lived. The association's facilities should be available to people of different cultures and nationalities as a meeting place.
The TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation will support the HERO 2019 Miteinander leben in Kelkheim in future projects.
