Miteinander leben in Kelkheim e.V.
"Miteinander leben in Kelkheim e.V." is our HERO 2019. The association is committed to an inclusive and colorful society in Kelkheim. Miteinander leben in Kelkheim was founded in 2017 to bundle the voluntary commitment that was widely visible as a reaction to the many refugees in 2015. The aim of the association is to help shape a diverse, open and tolerant society in Kelkheim.
Every year, the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation presents the HERO Award to organizations and individuals who actively campaign for human rights and against abuses. The prize money for the HERO Award is collected through the “Donations instead of gifts” campaign, which is supported by foundation-related companies and the employees of ROTHENBERGER AG.
On June 25, 2020, 34 members of “Miteinander leben in Kelkheim” and former refugees gathered for HERO Day at the TEC Center in Kelkheim, where the foundation is based. Dr. Christian Heine, CEO of ROTHENBERGER AG, opened the evening with a welcome address. Felix Gottschlich, Project Manager of the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation, led through the program. Dr. Sandra Rothenberger, 1st Chairwoman of the Foundation, sent her congratulations to HERO 2019 in a video message and praised the association for its commitment. In her speech, Ms. Berkenfeld, Deputy Chairwoman of the association, expressed her thanks for the award and presented the project to be supported with the prize money.
The HERO 2019, “Miteinander leben in Kelkheim”, received prize money of 7,000 euros. ROTHENBERGER Werkzeuge also donated a professional foosball table. The prize money will be used to equip the association's future premises, which will serve as a meeting place for people of different cultures and nationalities. The association is currently looking for a suitable location in the heart of Kelkheim where integration, togetherness and diversity can be lived.
The TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation will continue to support HERO 2019, “Miteinander leben in Kelkheim”, with future projects.
