Anyievo Ekpui - Togo e.V.
The 7th HERO Day took place on 16.06.2021. During the event, the winner of the HERO Award 2020, the non-profit organization Anyievo, which supports the village of Ekpui in Togo, was ceremoniously honored. In addition to supporting school and kindergarten children, the main focus is on the professional development of the inhabitants.
The event began with a welcome speech by Mr. Diehl, CFO of ROTHENBERGER AG. Dr. Rothenberger then welcomed the members of the Anyievo-Ekpui/Togo e.V. association and thanked them for their outstanding commitment.
Ms. Wycisk, chairwoman of the association, presented Anyievo's impressive successes. Among other things, the association has built a classroom, a sewing workshop, a mill and a water tower.
Anyievo-Ekpui/Togo e.V. is using the prize money of €7,000 to carry out an important WASH project (water, sanitation and hygiene). This involved purchasing 1,000 water tanks, each with a capacity of 60 liters, as well as liquid soap and training the local population in hygiene practices. This is particularly important in terms of combating diseases such as Covid-19 and cholera.
The TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation will continue to support HERO 2020 Anyievo-Ekpui/Togo e.V. with further projects in the future.
