Light in the darkness

While current headlines are dominated by the war in Iran, the war in Ukraine remains ever-present. For more than four years now, the conflict has profoundly affected the lives of millions of people.

In cities like Dnipro, deep in eastern Ukraine, the impact is felt every day: electricity is often available for only a few hours – sometimes in the middle of the night. Homes and streets bear visible signs of destruction, while schools and hospitals operate under extremely difficult conditions. Everyday life for civilians is marked by uncertainty, hardship, and constant danger.

Against this backdrop, we launched a donation campaign for Ukraine across the entire ROTHENBERGER Group – with an overwhelming response. Employees and participating companies showed remarkable commitment, for which we extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved.

The donated supplies are diverse and urgently needed: tools, power compressors, walkers, crutches, baby food, as well as clothing and blankets. Small solar lamps, gas heaters, and gas cartridges are also part of the shipment – providing the essentials for daily life: light, warmth, and the ability to cook.

In Dnipro, these supplies are even used in underground shelters. They provide, for example, light in an “underground kindergarten,” where children can continue to play and learn despite the danger, while rockets strike above them. Each gas cartridge becomes more than just a supply – it becomes a source of hope in the midst of chaos.

In total, 14–15 pallets of essential goods are on their way to a region where every form of support matters. Every package, every blanket, and every delivery helps restore a sense of normality.

The city of Kelkheim and its mayor have also stood firmly by Ukraine since the beginning of the war, continuously supporting relief efforts.

This initiative shows that every donation can make a difference – easing daily life, bringing hope, and providing light in dark times.
