Birthday donation benefits people in Senegal

On the occasion of his 70th birthday, Dr. Helmut Rothenberger, initiator of the TOOLS FOR LIFE foundation, received a special gift: The employees of ROTHENBERGER AG, of which Dr. Rothenberger is Chairman of the Board, collected money worldwide for the foundation to enable him to support an issue close to his heart. 7,753.70 Euro were collected for this donation, which was handed over during a birthday celebration at the company headquarters in Kelkheim / Taunus, Germany. Dr. Rothenberger promised on the spot to double this donation.

The total will benefit a project in Senegal and thus around 4,300 people. The project was implemented in collaboration with the organisation Hilfe für Afrika – Wasser für Senegal e.V. [Aid for Africa, – Water for Senegal] and the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung [Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development]: In the village of Ngolar, existing infrastructure will be extended so that the inhabitants will have better chances for providing for themselves independently in future. The water supply here is an urgent priority. In this way, the villagers, particularly the women, will be able to develop agriculture, and ensure better provision for their families. In addition, the school will be renovated, and the sanitary facilities extended. A training room for adult education will be built. The local medical centre will also benefit; provision of medicines and training of personnel will help the villagers.

The project in Ngolar is already the ninth that the TOOLS FOR LIFE foundation is implementing in Senegal working together with the organisation https://wasserfuersenegal.de/ [Aid for Africa - Water for Senegal]. You can find more Information about the Project here.
