Your commitment - Uganda 2017
The project work with TOOLS FOR LIFE has given me the opportunity to help others to help themselves and to noticeably improve their quality of life. Thank you for this unforgettable experience!

Residents of the Cerca Cavajal community in Haiti have limited access to electricity due to the country's poor infrastructure. This impacts their daily lives as they struggle to charge their electronic devices, refrigerate food and medicines, and have light in their homes. To address these challenges, TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation, in collaboration with partner organization Development Future Haiti, is supporting the community to build a dual-purpose solar kiosk.
Cerca Cavajal residents must walk a long distance twice a day to access national electricity grids, which are limited. Many cannot afford the cost of recharging due to their low income. This creates major challenges in managing daily life, as electricity is needed to use electronic devices such as phones, laptops, and lamps, as well as to refrigerate food and medicine.
TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation supports the residents of Cerca Cavajal and surrounding villages by building a dual-purpose solar kiosk. This serves as a charging station for rechargeable electronic devices such as phones, tablets and lamps, as well as cold storage for fresh produce such as fruits and vegetables and essential medicines.
In addition, a committee will be formed and trained to manage the system at the end of the project. The target group will be involved in the decision-making process and contribute to the project by providing housing for professionals from major cities, laborers, building blocks and water.
A workshop is held to teach community residents how to use the charging station, equipment use and safety measures, maintenance and actions in case of technical problems, storage and hygiene of fresh produce, and disposal of electrical equipment and its impact on the environment.
The total project cost is €11,000, with support of €10,000 provided by the TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation.
The construction of a dual-purpose solar kiosk will improve the quality of life for the residents of Cerca Cavajal and surrounding villages. They now have access to electricity for their electronic devices and can store their fresh produce and important medicines in a cool place. The TOOLS FOR LIFE Foundation is working closely with the target group to ensure that the project is successfully implemented.
The project work with TOOLS FOR LIFE has given me the opportunity to help others to help themselves and to noticeably improve their quality of life. Thank you for this unforgettable experience!

My TOOLS FOR LIFE staff trip to Senegal in 2012 was a unique experience. And the fact that I was standing on a meadow where today, after only two years, there is a school for several hundred pupils, which the Foundation helped to finance, is almost unbelievable. Great cause and great projects that make a little bit of a difference in the world.
